In the late 1970’s, men began dying of an unidentifiable disease. They withered away to nothing before they passed. The only link to this disease seemed to be sexual, and the disease became known as AIDS.
Christians had the overwhelming opportunity to love the sick, and to walk alongside of the dying. A few seized that opportunity. The vast majority, however, did not. Rather than apply the healing salve of the presence of Christ, we spewed the venom of judgment, condemnation, anger, and in some cases hate.
The debate rages on today. To some, it is a political agenda. To others, it defines whether or not someone is “moral”. This is a hotly debated topic.
But not here.
Gay and lesbian people are more than a topic. They are more than political agenda items differentiating one Party from another. They are beautiful people, created by the hand of a beautiful God.
The creators of this site recognize that Christians have, in their fervor to stand for truth, acted in ways that are completely against anything Jesus taught or modeled. Acknowledging this, we have designed a simple website for Christ-followers to do one, simple thing.
Apologize.
This is not a place for debate. This is not a place to help the other “side” understand your opinion on the matter. This is a place to simply and honestly apologize.
If you are a Christian, you are invited to post specific apologies to anyone in the gay and lesbian community. For gay and lesbian men and women, you are invited to respond.
